Acyclovir tablet acts only on the cells infected by the herpes virus and selectively inhibits viral reproduction.
The Acyclovir selectively affects the cells infected by herpes. It is activated and transformed into acyclovir triphosphate by a viral enzyme. The activated acyclovir inhibits the enzyme system which is needed for the DNA reproduction of the virus, resulting in the reproduction of the virus.
The Acyclovir is more active than the current anti-virus agent. It inhibits reappearance of the virus due to its continuous suppressive feature. Since the Acyclovir is found at very low concentrations in the uninfected cells, and it is not activated, it has almost no side effects.

For the treatment and prevention of herpes of the mucous tissues and the skin including first and recurrent blisters of the genital organs.
For herpes zoster, in particular acute pain, while it is not proven yet that it has an effect on neuralgia followed by blister.
For two-year-olds or older children with chicken pox
