Diazide tablet is an oral hypoglycemic agent which treats not only the metabolic disorder caused by diabetes but macroangiopathy as well. Its half life is about 10-12 hours, and two tablets a day are enough to control blood sugar. As it helps secrete the appropriate amount of insulin at a proper time, it is similar to the physiological insulin secretion. In addition, it recovers the damaged insulin secretion ability quickly and lessens hypoglycemia which is a side effect caused by other sulfonylurea agents. In particular, it recovers the balance of prostacyclin, and prevents macroangiopathy caused by diabetes or inhibits macroangiopathy's development.
