Ranitidine tablet is a new concept of H2-receptor antagonist and has been recently developed as ranitidine HCl for gastric and duodenal ulcers. Ranitidine HCl inhibits the secretion of stomach acids 4-9 times more than conventional H2-receptor antagonists.
In addition, it is a peptic ulcer medicine which selectively acts on the H2-receptor of the stomach walls's cells and which does not cause side effects on the antiandrogen function, the antimetabolism function of the liver enzyme system, and the central nervous system. It is 90 % or more effective.

For a gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, reflux oesophagitis, premedication for anesthesia (for the prevention of Mendelsohn's syndrome), ulcer after surgical operation, gastric and duodenal ulcers caused by taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug(NSAID), acute gastric mucosal lesion(erosion, bleeding, ruber and edema) of the following diseases : acute gastritis, acute exacerbation of the chronic gastritis.
Upper gastrointestinal bleeding as follows : peptic ulcer, acute stress ulcer, acute gastric mucosal lesion.
