Metformin hydrochloride(EP)  500.0mg

Indications

Treatment of typeⅡ diabetes mellitus with insufficient glycemic control through diet and exercise therapy

Dosage & Administration

For adults
500 mg once, 2~3 times a day with meals
The dose may be increased by 500 mg weekly, and if the dose reaches 2000 mg, divided into two doses taken in the morning and evening. If the dose exceeds 2000 mg, divided into three doses taken with meals, with a maximum daily dose of 2550 mg

Children and Adolescents(10 years and older)
500 mg once a day, taken during or after meals
Blood glucose levels should be measured one week after initiation, and the dose should be adjusted accordingly
Can be taken 2000 mg a day, divided into 2~3 doses

Patients with Renal Impairment
Can be used in patients with stage 3a moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance [CrCl] 45 to <60 ml/min or glomerular filtration rate [GFR] 45 to <60 ml/min/1.73㎡), provided there are no other symptoms that significantly increase the risk of lactic acidosis
500 or 850 mg once a day
Can be taken 1000 mg a day, divided into 2 doses 
If CrCl or GFR falls below 45 ml/min or 45 ml/min/1.73㎡, this medication should be discontinued immediately
